Designed hydrofoil retraction system for shallow water running of advanced hydrofoil vessel. Drew proposal Concept and illustrations for “Atlas” “Terrier” and “Petrel” missile program. Conceived ideas for lighter-than-air, heavier-than-air and rotor wing aircraft. Employment interrupted by military service (1950 to 1951). June 1947 March 1949 Engineer, Warco Press Division, Warren City Manufacturing, Warren, Ohio. Designed progressive tooling for Lustron Corporation / Crosley Corporation. March 1947 June 1947 Engineer, Dwight Austin Associates, Kent, Ohio. Designed an insurance-proof entrance door and step area. General American Aero Coach. October 1942 March 1947 Jr. Design Illustrator, Glenn L. Martin Company, Baltimore, Maryland. Designed aircraft, missiles and ground support equipment. Patented several designs. Employment interrupted for military service. (1943 to 1946). Other: Have been performing patent drawing from 1947 to present. Designed and supervised fabrication of large Fiberglass structure fro bridge area of yacht; 65 feet long x 37 feet wide x 13.5 feet high. Education: John Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. Received equivalent of two years credits while employed by Martin Corporation. Hired by Martin after two years at Kenwood High School, Rapsburg, Maryland. Military Service education, equivalent to two years college. U.S. Army Air Corps (October 1943 – September, 1946). Entered as Aviation Cadet. Attended Airplane Mechanic's School, Kessler Field, Mississippi; B-26 Factory School, Baltimore, Maryland; Flight engineers School, Tyndall Field, Florida. Volunteered for atomic bomb “Project Crossroads” in 1945. U.S. Air Force (October, 1950 to March, 1951). Korean Research Recall; served as C-119 Flight Engineer. Completed service as B-29 Flight Engineer. Government Service: Luxembourg Mission (1972). Received approval from the White House to contact North Vietnamese to exchange visits or information regarding war prisoners for entertainment at North Vietnamese children's hospitals. Returned to Luxembourg in 1974 at State Department's request, representing Ford Administration in talks on exchanging MIA information. Both visits failed, but while there, we entertained in European children's hospitals. Patents: Fingerprint Viewing and Photographic Device (1965). Developed and patented while working with the University of Miami Neo-Natal Dermatoglyphic Unit, studying the epidermal ridge patterns that indicate abnormalities in 21 of 23 chromosomes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aircraft Landing Gear (1943 - First patent ) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Patent's too numerous to list; Please see attached. This paper was reviewed by Dr. Robert Jerviek, artificial heart designer, who suggested I apply for a government grant to do further research. Paper on Electromagnetic Pulse Effect on Earth's Magnetic Field. Honors: Awarded “Order of the Purple Martin”, Martin Corporation's highest award for scientific achievement. Community Service: Member, Board of Directors, March of Dimes. (Five years) Traveled to Europe twice. Entertained with “Roger” the woodpecker, who sat on Bill's arm and drew pictures for children in hospitals and institutions.
